You don’t want to stress over finances. You want to tell your family that everything is going to be okay, that God is going to provide. You want to have financial peace.
Financial stress affects your marriage, affects your family, and affects your health. It makes you lose focus of the things that bring you joy. All you can think about is how you are going to make ends meet. You feel as if you’re drowning in anxiety.
But what if I told you that Jesus has a lot to say on how to have financial peace? Would you be interested in learning more? Here is one Kingdom principle that will take you down the path to financial peace:
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21 ESV)
The heart follows the treasure. If you treasure material things you will always be stressed out about not having enough or about losing what you do have. But if you make God your treasure, meaning, if you make God your number one priority, you will have financial peace because you will know that he will provide for you. The heart follows the treasure.
What would happen if you made God your number one priority? You would be able to tell your family that everything is going to be okay because God is your provider. You would stop buying things you can’t afford to fill a void that only God can fill. You would no longer be driven by an insatiable desire to have material things because your heart’s desire would be on God. You would have financial peace.
You can be the financial hero that your family needs. You can go from being stressed out to having peace; and you can show others how.
Make the shift. Make God your treasure. This is the path to financial peace.
What will you decide?
