No Shame at His Return
If Jesus returned today and took a look at your life would you feel courage knowing that you have done your best for him, or would you shrink back in shame? Do you feel that you would be able to look into Jesus’ eyes and tell him that you have served him to the best of your ability? Or would you wish for more time to do the things that he assigned you to do? Would you be strong enough to look at him and tell him that you have done your best to live in integrity and keep his commandments? Or are there inappropriate relationships and behaviors in your life that you would be afraid of Jesus witnessing? 1 John 2:28 tells us how to remain ready at all times for Jesus’ return. It says, “And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.” To remain in fellowship with Christ is to walk in obedience to his word. It means to live a life of integrity that does not allow sin to get between you and Christ. It is spending time in His presence each day.
Therefore, in 2010 live each day as if Jesus were coming in the evening. In anticipation of his return you would spend each day living in fellowship with Him and ready to stand courageously before him.
